Gary Lamar Dancy Jr Obituary, 12 shot, 1 killed over weekend in Cleveland; No suspects yet

Gary Lamar Dancy Jr Obituary – According to the Cleveland Division of Police, 12 people were shot in seven separate conflicts beginning late Friday night into early Monday morning. The incidents included the death of an 18-year-old man, a pair of triple shootings, and the injury of a 12-year-old girl.

The homicide occurred Friday just after 9:15 p.m. on Talford Avenue in the Lee-Miles neighborhood. The victim, identified as Gary Lamar Dancy Jr., was found with multiple gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

The first triple shooting then took place just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, with three men — ages 27, 34, and 40 — all hurt near the intersection of East 117th Street and Superior Avenue. The trio were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Less than a half-hour later, authorities say three more people were shot near Wade Park in the Hough neighborhood. A 34-year-old male was taken by EMS crews to the hospital, while a 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman both transported themselves for medical treatment.

3News first reported the Saturday night shooting of the 12-year-old girl on Friday. Officials say she was struck in the shoulder near East 93rd Street and Amesbury Avenue in Hough, but she is now listed as being in stable condition.

The remaining three shootings took place as follows:

Saturday, 2:18 a.m.: A 51-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot within the 3500 block of West 50th Street.
Sunday, 8:11 p.m.: A 30-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot within the 1400 block of East 175th Street.
Monday, 12:25 a.m.: Two women arrived at MetroHealth Medical Center and claimed they were shot near the intersection of East 51st Street and Holyoke Avenue.
Police have not named any suspects at this time.
