Gayle Steele Obituary, – Greensboro authorities have identified the driver allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident with a pedestrian last week at West Cone Boulevard and Dellwood Drive.

A warrant has been released for the arrest of Manuel Parada-Sosa, a 25-year-old resident of Greensboro, on various charges including felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death, driving with a revoked license, hit-and-run property damage, misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to yield to pedestrian right-of-way, and failure to reduce speed.

Investigators suspect that Parada-Sosa fled the scene before the police located the suspect vehicle, which was eventually found with the help of a tip from the community on Saturday. The warrant was issued later that same day and is now active in a nationwide database.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Thursday when authorities responded to reports of a hit-and-run at the intersection of West Cone Boulevard and Dellwood Drive. A pedestrian was struck and unfortunately died at the scene, identified as Gayle Steele, a 70-year-old Greensboro resident. The victim’s family mentioned that Steele was hit while putting up garage sale signs. The suspect vehicle was discovered near UNCG, and investigators urge anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers.
