Jawaun Cleo Jones. Jones Obituary – Metro Nashville Police have confirmed the identity of the teenager who was shot with his own firearm on Antioch Pike on Saturday evening.

Law enforcement officials announced on Tuesday that the victim has been recognized as 16-year-old Jawaun Cleo Jones. Jones was reportedly shot with his own weapon in the 1600 block of Antioch Pike following an altercation with three individuals.

Upon examining footage from surveillance cameras in the vicinity, investigators suspect that Jones was riding a skateboard shortly after 11 p.m. when he was approached by the trio. A physical altercation ensued between the victim and the suspects, resulting in the victim dropping a handgun. Subsequently, one of the three individuals retrieved the firearm and fired at the victim.

Authorities stated that the victim attempted to flee but collapsed in front of a nearby establishment’s lawn. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The three suspects fled on foot.
