Joel Jeremiah Silva,Jesus Guillen Jr. Obituary, Death; – The teenagers who lost their lives in a car accident following a police pursuit that began in Rancho Cucamonga have been identified by authorities. The San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were chasing a black Hyundai, suspecting the driver of being under the influence. The three individuals who were killed have been named as Joel Jeremiah Silva, 16, of Fontana; Jesus Guillen Jr., 16, of Fontana; and Michael Adrian Gomez, 17, of Pomona.

The Rancho Cucamonga station deputies attempted to stop the Hyundai at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Archibald Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. The vehicle evaded the deputies and crashed into a white Ford Mustang six minutes later, before hitting a pole at North Mountain Avenue and West 16th Street in Upland, as shown in KTLA-TV’s footage.

According to law enforcement, the Hyundai was torn into three pieces, resulting in the deaths of four of the five occupants. A 13-year-old was the sole survivor. The identity of the fourth deceased individual has not been disclosed, nor has the driver of the vehicle been identified.

Deputies stated that the Hyundai matched the description of a stolen car from Fontana, and one of the deceased teenagers was found to be carrying a loaded firearm. The Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the car chase, while Upland police are looking into the fatal crash. Both departments have not yet responded to The Times’ request for comment.
