John J. Lundin Obituary, Fatal crash near Sturgis victim identified

John J. Lundin Obituary – An 82-year-old male passed away on July 4th due to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision on July 1st near Sturgis, SD. John J. Lundin, the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, was heading eastbound on SD Highway 34 near mile marker 38. Simultaneously, Jerry L. Seaman, the driver of a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500, was traveling westbound on SD Highway 34.

Lundin attempted a left-hand turn into a gas station, crossing paths with the Dodge Ram and resulting in a head-on collision. The occupants of the Dodge Ram were taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Lundin was airlifted to a Rapid City hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 4th. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, and all information provided is preliminary.
