Jordan Laulusa Obituary, – Police in Hawaii and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are investigating after a body was discovered in a burned-out vehicle in Salt Lake. Authorities have not ruled out arson and are seeking witnesses.

The vehicle, identified as an old food truck, went up in flames around 3:30 a.m. Saturday near the corner of Malaai and Lawehana Street. Residents said a woman lived in the truck, but it is not clear if she is the victim. “She would move up and down the road. She would park in certain areas along this street,” said a man who works in the area.

Firefighters were able to quickly douse the flames. During the search of the vehicle, the victim’s body was found in the driver’s seat. An autopsy will be conducted. Private businesses nearby said police went door to door to find surveillance video that could provide clues as to what happened.

This deadly fire comes a year after 21-year-old Jordan Laulusa’s body was found in a burned car at Mililani High School. A 25-year-old man was charged with murder in the second degree and arson. It is still unclear whether this recent vehicle fire was intentional. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (808) 955-8300.
