Philip Kyle Degler Obituary, Man killed in single-car crash in Tipton County

Philip Kyle Degler Obituary,  – An Elwood resident lost his life when his vehicle allegedly collided with a creek located to the north of State Road 38 on Saturday morning. As per a statement from the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to State Road 28, just west of Hobbs, following a crash report shortly after 8:30 a.m. on June 15.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies and members of the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department discovered the crashed vehicle in the creek. First responders entered the creek promptly to administer medical assistance to the driver, but unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased.

Based on an initial inquiry, the driver, identified as 40-year-old Philip “Kyle” Degler, was operating a 2016 Kia Soul in a westbound direction on State Road 28 when, for reasons unknown, the vehicle veered off the road while navigating a curve on SR28. The car purportedly proceeded to travel northwest through a small cornfield before crashing and coming to a halt in the creek. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with the Tipton County Coroner’s Office and the Indiana State Police collaborating to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
