Royce D. McKinney Obituary, Man killed in St. Paul homicide identified

Royce D. McKinney Obituary – The victim of the homicide in St. Paul earlier this week has been identified as 22-year-old Royce D. McKinney from St. Paul by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.

Upon responding to a report of a vehicle crash with a gunshot victim inside at the intersection of Van Dyke Street and York Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, authorities found McKinney in the driver’s seat of a crashed Chevy Tahoe with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite efforts by St. Paul Fire medics to administer first aid, McKinney was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, an update revealed that a 17-year-old was arrested in connection to the homicide during a traffic stop in Little Canada. The suspect was taken to the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder and possession of a pistol under 18-years-old. St. Paul police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
