Staff Sergeant Jorge Delgado Obituary,  – The airman who passed away in a vehicular incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base on Saturday, June 29, 2024, has been identified as Staff Sergeant Jorge Delgado, aged 38, serving with the 341st Security Forces Squadron at Malmstrom. Malmstrom officials disclosed his name on Monday afternoon.

SSgt Delgado was among four airmen who were en route to their duty location on base in an “up-armored HMMWV” (also known as a Humvee) when the accident occurred. Two airmen who were first responders sustained injuries while attending to the accident. Reports indicate that two of the injured airmen are currently in stable condition at a medical facility in Great Falls, while three have already been discharged. Specifics regarding the accident have not been made public.

Colonel Dan Voorhies, the commander of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom, expressed in a news release: “Team Malmstrom and our surrounding community mourn not only the loss of an exceptional Airman, but a family member and a friend. As we support our affected Airmen and families, I encourage us all to take a little extra time to check in on one another, embrace those in need, and offer love and support, so we can persevere. Wing One is dedicated to the safety and security of our members, and we will remain steadfast during this period.” Malmstrom has chosen not to disclose any further information; we will provide updates if additional details become available.
