Tobenna Obiaga Obituary, – Hamilton Police have identified the individual who was killed in a shooting incident over the long weekend in Millgrove.

Law enforcement officers responded to reports of a shooting on Highway 6 near 6th Concession E at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. They reported that a confrontation erupted at a large house party in a short-term rental property. The altercation spilled onto the highway, resulting in gunshots being fired at a car parked on the shoulder and another vehicle that had stopped at a nearby gas station.

According to a news release by the police, a man was found in the parked vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately passed away due to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Tobenna Obiaga, a 45-year-old from Halton Region. This incident marks the fifth homicide in Hamilton this year.

Two individuals in the vehicle at the gas station sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and have been discharged from the hospital. Another person suffered minor injuries at the house, unrelated to firearms, and has also been released from medical care.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark grey sedan fleeing the scene, but no further details about the suspects are available at this time. The police are currently securing the property and vehicles left behind at the scene until search warrants are obtained later today.

Investigators believe that there are additional witnesses to the homicide who have not yet come forward. They are encouraging these individuals to contact the Homicide Unit.
