Alasia Franklin Obituary, Death; – According to news outlets, a student at Kennesaw State University rushed to assist when gunfire broke out on campus, only to discover that the victim was his friend. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 18, outside the Austin Residence Complex dormitory at the Atlanta-area university.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the young woman was shot and killed during a dispute. The suspect, Samuel Harris, fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after. He now faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. It is worth noting that Harris is not a student at KSU. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Alasia Franklin by her family, was a senior student majoring in integrated health sciences with a minor in medical sociology.

She was actively involved in various organizations on campus, including the Student Government Association and the Integrated Health Science Club. KSU President Kathy S. Schwaig expressed her condolences to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time. Franklin and Harris both attended Cairo High School in a city located over 230 miles away from KSU.
