Andre Joseph Fournier Sr Obituary – Hawaii Island police have confirmed the identity of the 59-year-old man who passed away in a motorcycle accident in Ka’u last Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Andre Joseph Fournier Sr. from Ocean View.

Reports indicate that at approximately 5:37 p.m., Fournier was traveling south on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) and had overtaken multiple vehicles near the entrance of Manuka State Park. Following the overtaking, Fournier allegedly crossed double solid yellow lines and collided with a rock embankment on the Mauka side of the highway. Subsequently, he was thrown from the motorcycle and was transported to Kona Community Hospital, where he was declared deceased at 10:30 p.m.

Authorities have stated that the incident is currently under investigation as a coroner’s inquest. Fournier’s passing marks the 18th traffic fatality this year, a significant increase from the 8 recorded at the same period last year.
