Benoit Pasteur Obituary, Man armed with shotgun, rifle shot and killed by Palm Beach deputy

Benoit Pasteur Obituary – A deputy in Palm Beach fatally shot and killed a man who was armed with a shotgun and rifle, according to officials. The incident occurred in the 7000 block of S. Military Trail after deputies responded to reports of the man carrying one of the firearms and pushing a shopping cart containing the other gun, a gas can, and a soccer ball.

Witnesses stated that the man had pointed one of the weapons at them and had attempted to carjack a woman with a child in a vehicle outside a Dunkin’. Despite orders to get on the ground, the man was uncooperative and agitated. He momentarily set down the shotgun and picked up the rifle, prompting one of the deputies to shoot him. The man was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. On Friday, officials identified him as 38-year-old Benoit Pasteur.
