Brittany Hollan Obituary, Mother-of-five killed in western Wisconsin identified; arrest made

Brittany Hollan Obituary, Death – The Siren Police Department said Brittany Hollan was found dead inside her Village of Siren home at about 2:23 a.m. on Friday. The family says that Hollan, 32, grew up in Pine City, Minnesota. A 36-year-old man was identified as a murder suspect in the case on Tuesday and was arrested hours later. A 911 call was made by the suspect, telling dispatchers he killed Hollan and that her children needed to be removed from the home.

Police said Hollan was found in her bedroom with “apparent trauma to the upper body,” with an autopsy confirming she died “from sharp force trauma to the head and neck.” Four children were found inside the home, unharmed.

The suspect wasn’t immediately found at the home when law enforcement arrived. After a short search, the man was found at his Grantsburg, Wisconsin home. He turned himself in without incident.

The man is being held at the Burnett County Jail on $1 million bond for pending charges of first-degree intentional homicide. Bring Me The News doesn’t typically name suspects until they have been officially charged with a crime. A fundraiser has been launched to help ease the financial burden for Hollan’s family.

The GoFundMe, started by Hollan’s sister, said: “We lost an amazing Sister, daughter, mother. Brittany was such an amazing person that touched so many lives.”

As of Wednesday, the fundraiser has raised over $3,700 of its $10,000 goal.

A celebration of life is planned for Oct. 28 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Pine City library.
