Carolyn McCall Lund Obituary, Driver identified in fatal dump truck crash on U.S. 64 in Rosman

Carolyn McCall Lund Obituary – The dump truck driver who tragically lost her life in a single-vehicle crash on April 22 in Rosman has been identified by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Carolyn McCall Lund, a 63-year-old resident of Transylvania County, was the victim of the accident. Sgt. Jim Contas confirmed that the incident was reported at 12:37 p.m. on April 22, occurring on U.S. 64 West in Rosman near Silversteen Road.

According to Contas, Lund veered off the road to the right and collided with a tree. The Highway Patrol does not suspect that speed played a role in the crash, and it is still uncertain whether Lund was wearing a seat belt at the time. The cause of death is currently being investigated by the medical examiner, who is determining if it was related to a medical condition or injuries sustained in the accident. Funeral arrangements for Lund are being handled by Moody Connolly, located at 181 S. Caldwell St. in Brevard. A celebration of life service in her honor will take place at 1 p.m. on May 4 at the funeral home.
