David Treese Obituary, Man apprehended in connection with the murder of a taxi cab driver in Rochester.

David Treese Obituary – A man is facing charges following the fatal shooting of a taxi cab driver early Monday. According to authorities, David Porter, 36, allegedly pistol-whipped, shot, and killed David Treese, 45, during a robbery in the city’s northeast side.

Treese was responding to a fare call on First Street just after 3 a.m. when the incident occurred. Porter reportedly entered the cab with a gun, pistol-whipped Treese, and demanded money as the cab started moving. He then fired multiple shots, hitting Treese in the upper body. The assault continued until the cab reached Bay Street, where Treese exited the vehicle, collapsed, and succumbed to his injuries.

Porter then took control of the cab, crashed it on Central Park, abandoned the vehicle, and fled the scene. Law enforcement officers arrived at Central Park following a 911 call about the crash. An hour later, a passerby discovered Treese’s body on Bay Street. Porter was located at an apartment in Chili the next day and has been charged with murder, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon. Due to his criminal record, Porter is not allowed to possess a handgun in New York state.
