Demario Patterson Obituary, Death; Man 21, killed Sunday night crash in Cheektowaga identified

Demario Patterson Obituary, Death;  – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at a busy intersection in Cheektowaga Sunday evening. Police say the collision took place at Walden Avenue and Union Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. A section of Union near the crash site was briefly closed, but has since reopened. The pedestrian was identified as Demario Patterson, 21, who was found unconscious on the ground. The vehicle that struck Patterson did not stop after the crash, police said. He was seriously injured and taken to ECMC, where he succumbed to his injuries and died. The investigation is ongoing.
