Douglas White Obituary, Pedestrian identified, driver issued citations after fatal crash in Nashville

Douglas White Obituary, – The pedestrian who lost his life in the fatal crash on Murfreesboro Pike near Fesslers Lane on Tuesday evening has been identified as 63-year-old Douglas White, as confirmed by the Metro Nashville Police Department.

According to authorities, White and his companion were walking on the sidewalk when a semi-truck was maneuvering into a driveway. White accidentally walked into the side of the semi-truck, causing him to fall to the ground and tragically lose his life.

The driver of the semi-truck, 56-year-old Hassan Yusuf, initially left the scene but was later located by law enforcement officers. Yusuf claimed that he was unaware that he had struck someone, as per police reports. Yusuf was cited by the police for leaving the scene of a crash resulting in a fatality and failing to provide assistance. Law enforcement officials stated that there were no indications of impairment on Yusuf’s part at the crash site. To determine if impairment played a role in the incident, toxicology tests will be conducted on White, as announced by the police.
