Dylan Andrew Powers Obituary – The man who lost his life in a tragic wrong-way crash in downtown Fort Wayne has been identified by the Allen County Coroner. Dylan Andrew Powers, a 30-year-old resident of Fort Wayne, was determined to be the victim of the accident.
The coroner concluded that his death was accidental and resulted from multiple blunt-force injuries. This unfortunate incident marks the eighth fatal crash in Allen County in the year 2024. According to a press release issued by the Fort Wayne Police Department, initial investigations indicate that Powers was driving a pickup truck in the wrong direction, heading westbound on E. Wayne Street shortly before 1 a.m. As he attempted to cross the intersection with S. Clinton Street, a car traveling south on Clinton collided with the pickup truck.
The impact of the crash caused Powers to be ejected from his vehicle and onto the roadway. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. In the other car involved, there were two juveniles. One of them sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital, but has since been released. The other juvenile was fortunate enough to escape the incident unharmed.
