Graham Pope Obituary, 1 dead after crash with officer during chase

Graham Pope Obituary – A car dealership employee in South Carolina was fatally shot by a man who was subsequently arrested. The suspect, identified as Westley Gross, allegedly shot and killed Graham Pope, a 39-year-old employee at JT Kia dealership. Following the incident, Gross fled the scene, prompting a pursuit by law enforcement officers through downtown Columbia.

During the chase, a Columbia police vehicle collided with a 2023 Toyota sedan at an intersection, resulting in the death of the Toyota’s driver. The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Eventually, the suspect crashed into a residential backyard, leading to his apprehension by the Columbia police. Gross has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. While it is unclear how many crashes occurred during the chase and if anyone else was injured, Gross is believed to have struck multiple vehicles.
