Hedilberto Nava Perez Obituary, – The tractor-trailer was heading northwest on Horseblock Road and was trying to turn left onto Express Drive North when it was hit by a 2008 BMW, as reported by Suffolk County Police. The BMW driver ran away from the scene.
Hedilberto Nava Perez, a 44-year-old passenger from Medford, was declared dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. Adan Nava Palacios, a 20-year-old passenger from Medford, is currently at Stony Brook University Hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
After an inquiry, detectives from the Major Case Unit identified Dolores Mancia-Landaverde as the BMW driver. Mancia-Landaverde, a 28-year-old from Medford, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a fatality. He is in custody at the Sixth Precinct and is set to appear in court at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, June 11. The tractor-trailer driver did not sustain any injuries.
