Herman Hassell Disher Obituary, Man found dead following car crash in Winston-Salem

Herman Hassell Disher Obituary – A collision involving a box truck resulted in the death of one individual, as confirmed by the Winston-Salem Fire Department. The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 2:15 p.m. on the 5000 block of South Main Street near Jones Road. Fire officials stated that two vehicles collided head-on.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, the crash resulted in a fatality. As a result of the ongoing investigation, the 5000 block of South Main Street remained closed for an extended period. On Sunday evening, the police identified the deceased as 62-year-old Herman Hassell Disher from Lexington.

Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities revealed that Disher was driving a 2012 Nissan Versa southbound on South Main Street. He crossed over the double yellow line in a curve and collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Box Truck traveling northbound.

Disher was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the box truck remained unharmed. The WSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit promptly responded to the scene and has taken charge of the investigation. The next-of-kin of Herman Disher has been informed of his passing.
