Jaydin Sanderson Obituary, Man sentenced for first-degree murder of Johnstown teen

Jaydin Sanderson Obituary – A Johnstown man has been sentenced for the 2022 death of 19-year-old Jaydin Sanderson. Qwante Rose, 22, was sentenced to life in prison, according to Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer. In February he was found guilty of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment of another person by a Cambria County jury.

He was found not guilty of murder in the third degree. Sanderson was found in the driver’s seat of her father’s black sedan with a gunshot wound to her head, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said in January 2022. Days after her murder, Rose allegedly confessed to a person, whose identity was withheld, that he killed Sanderson.

The Commonwealth thanks JPD and the many Law Enforcement Officers from supporting agencies, The Cambria County Coroner’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab, staff of the District Attorney’s Office, and all of the many other people involved for their tireless work on this case.  Justice for Jaydin and her senseless murder was finalized today.  While we are happy with the outcome of the trial and his sentencing, nothing can bring back Jaydin, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
