Jessica Dawn Simpson, Woman arrested, 10 days later for fatal Colleton County hit-and-run

Jessica Dawn Simpson – Jessica Dawn Simpson, 34, faces charges of hit and run involving death following an incident on April 3 where she allegedly struck a bicyclist with her 2017 Nissan Rogue in Walterboro. The collision occurred on Highway 64 at around 3 p.m., resulting in the death of the cyclist.

Simpson is currently in custody at the Colleton County Jail awaiting a bond hearing, with her first court appearance scheduled for June 7. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash, seeking information from the public and releasing a photo of the car involved, which is expected to have damage on the passenger side and mirror. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed by the Colleton County Coroner’s Office at this time.
