Jonathon Hussing Obituary, Man dies after being struck by charter bus in Covington Police;

Jonathon Hussing Obituary – Covington authorities are currently conducting an investigation following a fatal accident involving a man who was hit by a bus on Thursday morning. Law enforcement officers were sent to the vicinity of 12th and Scott Streets in response to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a bus at 8:59 a.m.

The man, who was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident, was hit by the bus, resulting in the bicycle being trapped underneath the vehicle. The injured man was taken to UC Medical Center with severe injuries and unfortunately passed away due to the injuries sustained.

The deceased individual was identified by Covington police as Jonathon Hussing, a 26-year-old resident of Covington. The bus involved in the accident belonged to Cavalier Coaches. The company’s safety director expressed their condolences and stated that they are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Passengers who were on the bus during the collision were later picked up by another charter bus company. Following the tragic event, some locals have pointed out that this incident highlights a larger issue.

Matt Butler from the Devou Good Foundation mentioned that the widening of 12th Street and MLK has increased the risks in residential areas. Blaming individuals involved in accidents does not address the root cause of the problem, according to Butler. He emphasized that the real issue lies in the design and engineering of intersections and roads. Authorities are urging anyone with information or video evidence related to the accident to reach out to detectives at 859-292-2234.
