Joshua Brooks,Ashlee Price Obituary, Two teens killed in crash while leading law enforcement on chase

Joshua Brooks,Ashlee Price Obituary – The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer while being pursued by law enforcement officers. The tragic incident occurred in Edgefield County around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Joshua Brooks, 18, and Ashlee Price, 19, both residents of Aiken County. The collision involved a 2007 Honda Civic that was attempting to evade sheriff’s deputies. The vehicle, traveling north on U.S. 25/Augusta Road, veered off the road, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided with the tractor-trailer near Rabbit Trail. Unfortunately, both teenagers passed away at the scene.

The truck driver sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The circumstances leading to the pursuit are currently under investigation by the sheriff’s office. As of now, there is no information available regarding the use of seat belts during the crash. The Highway Patrol has not disclosed whether the incident is still under investigation. In 2024, 346 fatalities have been recorded on South Carolina roads, as reported by the Department of Public Safety. Edgefield County has witnessed three deaths this year, with four fatalities reported in 2023.
