Kevon Parker Obituary, South Carolina man killed as car crashes into tree

Kevon Parker Obituary – A man from South Carolina lost his life on Saturday after a vehicle collided with a tree, as reported by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. The victim, identified as Kevon Parker, a 33-year-old resident of Johnston, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, stated Coroner Darryl Ables.

The incident, which involved a single vehicle, occurred around 4:05 p.m., according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Parker was driving a 2005 Pontiac sedan heading south on Chinquapin Church Road in the Monetta area, approximately a mile away from the Big Mo Drive In Theatre. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road at the 1100 block of Chinquapin Church Road, then overcorrected, crossed lanes, and ultimately crashed into a tree after hitting an embankment, as described by Ables. Parker sustained fatal blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot. It was confirmed that he was the sole occupant of the car, and no other injuries were reported.

Ables mentioned that Parker was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are currently investigating the incident, with pending results of toxicology tests, as stated by Ables. As of Tuesday, the Department of Public Safety reported that 270 individuals had lost their lives in traffic accidents in South Carolina in 2024. Last year, the number of fatalities due to crashes in the state was reported to be 1,030 by DPS.
