Kristen Brooke Bruschi Obituary – Antonio Rivera, 23, was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday for a hit-and-run crash last summer that resulted in the death of Kristen Brooke Bruschi, 45, a single mother who was walking her bicycle near a busy shopping center in Woodbridge.
Rivera pleaded guilty on March 11 to second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash. Bruschi was struck by a black sports car near the Crosspointe Town Square shopping center and later died of her injuries at a local hospital. Rivera admitted to driving the vehicle at the time of the crash and was identified as the driver during the investigation. In addition to the hit-and-run charge, Rivera also pleaded guilty to creating a false report to law enforcement and received a one-year concurrent prison term. Bruschi, according to her obituary, was a single mother who enjoyed various outdoor activities with her young daughter.
