Lacie Nicole Santia Obituary – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced that Lacie Nicole Santia, a resident of Independence Township who had been reported missing, was discovered deceased on Monday afternoon at Waterford Oaks County Park. Sheriff Michael Bouchard stated that there is no evidence of foul play, but a thorough investigation is being conducted.
The community was urged to keep Santia’s family in their thoughts and prayers. Santia, a mother of two who operates a concession stand at St. Mary’s Orchard Lake Ice Arena with her husband, Marco, received heartfelt tributes from friends on social media. Her father-in-law, who owns Gino’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Keego Harbor, provided updates on the business’ Facebook page.
Following a search party organized by friends and family from Waterford Township and Keego Harbor at Waterford Oaks, Santia was located and the search was called off. Various law enforcement agencies, including the sheriff’s office drone unit, search and rescue team, K-9 unit, aviation unit, Waterford City Police, U.S. Border Patrol, and the Metroparks Police Search and Rescue Team, were involved in the search efforts.
