Lateris Cook Obituary – The investigation into the mass shooting in Akron, where 25 people were shot, is ongoing. The victim who was killed has been identified as Lateris Cook from Akron, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
During a press conference, it was revealed that there were 24 other victims with gunshot wounds, ranging in age from 19 to 35, two of whom are in critical condition. No suspects have been arrested yet, but authorities are offering a $22,500 reward for information related to the case. The scene of the shooting yielded 35 shell casings from different types of guns, including a rifle.
Akron police responded to multiple calls of shots fired and later received notifications from local hospitals about multiple gunshot victims. The number of total gunshot victims was initially reported as 27 but was later corrected to 25. Two firearms and several dozen casings have been recovered from the scene.
