Luis Enrique Statement; No rush to win league title for quadruple-chasing PSG

Luis Enrique Statement;  – Paris St Germain is not in a hurry to secure the Ligue 1 title, as they are also preparing for the Champions League semifinals and the Coupe de France final, according to manager Luis Enrique. PSG claimed the Trophee des Champions in January and are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the semis following their 4-1 victory over Barcelona. With a 10-point lead in Ligue 1, they are on the verge of clinching their 12th league title.

Enrique emphasized during a press conference that there is no sense of urgency. The main goal remains to win the league, but the focus is on maintaining competitiveness in every match. Regardless of when they secure the title, PSG aims to be competitive in all competitions they are involved in, including the Coupe de France and the Champions League.

The upcoming match against Lyon on Sunday, which they will also face in the Coupe de France final, is seen as a separate challenge by Enrique. Despite Lyon’s impressive recent form, the PSG manager believes the game will be distinct from the final based on its significance.

Enrique, who has faced criticism for his tactics and team selection, stated that he pays no attention to such comments. With PSG still in contention for a historic quadruple, he remains focused on his coaching duties and disregards external opinions. PSG currently sits at 63 points with a game in hand over second-placed Brest. Brest will take on AS Monaco on Sunday, who are one point behind them in the standings.
