Melissa Hallack Obituary, Woman killed in St. Joseph County head-on crash, man injured
Melissa Hallack Obituary – A fatal collision occurred on Thursday morning in St. Joseph County, resulting in the death of a Mendon woman. According to St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman, the incident took place on Silver Street, just north of Pinhook Road in Mendon Township, around 8:00 a.m.
Initial findings suggest that a 24-year-old man from Reading was traveling north on Silver Street when he collided head-on with another vehicle. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Melissa Hallack of Mendon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, whose identity is being withheld pending further investigation, was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Authorities suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
