Michael Brooks,Lashonda Wilkerson Obituary – The names of the individuals involved in the tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday in Augusta’s medical district have been disclosed by the Richmond County Coroner’s Office. Lashonda Wilkerson, 45, from Hephzibah, was fatally shot near the intersection of Druid Park and Walton Way.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been arranged. Michael Brooks, 45, from Augusta, who is suspected to be involved in Wilkerson’s death, was found dead in his car at Pendleton King Park after apparently shooting himself. He was also pronounced dead at the scene, with an autopsy scheduled. Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were alerted to the shooting at the intersection of Druid Park Avenue and Walton Way just after 1:30 p.m.

Wilkerson was discovered deceased on the street, having been shot while driving her car. Approximately an hour later, at 2:35 p.m., deputies located Brooks deceased inside his car at Pendleton King Park. The cause of death was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
