The inmate was discovered unresponsive in their cell at approximately 5:30 a.m. by the facility’s staff.

Immediate CPR was administered by the detention center staff, and emergency medical services promptly arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, despite the efforts to save his life, 24-year-old Michael Calvin McMahan was pronounced dead at 6:21 a.m. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of McMahan’s death.
