Mohamed Elhadi Mohamed Obituary – A dual citizen from Sudan who was reported missing in Pittsburgh last summer has been discovered deceased. The Pittsburgh Police Department has confirmed that Mohamed Elhadi Mohamed was found dead outside the city on Friday morning.

Mohamed was the individual retrieved from the Ohio River in the McKees Rocks area around 1:37 a.m. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called in to assist McKees Rocks officials. The Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death. According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, Mohamed, aged 24, went missing on Wednesday night in the Central Northside neighborhood. Flyers were posted at the 40 North restaurant where he worked.

Chef Beth Zozula mentioned that Mohamed had sent a text on Wednesday night saying he wasn’t feeling well and would take the day off. However, he never showed up for his shift the next day. Zozula explained that Mohamed was originally from Sudan and was studying medicine, but due to circumstances in his home country, he had to stay with a friend in Pittsburgh. He started working at 40 North and found joy in preparing salads and desserts. Zozula described him as someone who cherished his job and the city he was in.
