Paul M. Porter,Kathleen L. Lebarron Obituary – Three individuals from Minnesota were tragically killed in a head-on collision on Saturday afternoon in Morris County, Kansas. The incident occurred at the intersection of Kelso Road and P Avenue, approximately 6 miles northwest of Council Grove, around 3:53 p.m.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling south on Kelso Road when it collided head-on with a 2024 Toyota Rav4 SUV that was traveling northbound on the same road. The occupants of the Toyota, identified as Troy A Sabean (33), Emma M. Porter (33), and Ann C. Porter (69), all from Roseville, Minnesota, unfortunately lost their lives in the crash. It is worth noting that all three victims were wearing their seat belts.
Additionally, two other individuals in the Toyota, Paul M. Porter (68) and Kathleen L. Lebarron (64) from Edina, Minnesota, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Both Porter and Lebarron were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
The occupants of the Dodge pickup truck, Andrew M. Steele (53) from White City (the driver), and Lisa M. Steele (51) from White City (a passenger), also suffered serious injuries. Andrew Steele was taken to Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, while Lisa Steele was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. It is important to note that Andrew Steele was not wearing a seat belt, whereas Lisa Steele was properly restrained. The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
