William Thomas Obituary, Driver Killed in Rollover Crash in Gloucester County identified

William Thomas Obituary,  – A devastating incident occurred in Gloucester County on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of a driver and causing severe injuries to a child. As per the authorities, a rollover crash involving a single vehicle took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Route 17 near Gloucester Courthouse Road.

The vehicle, operated by a 32-year-old man named William Thomas from Gloucester, veered off the road and flipped multiple times. Sadly, William Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 10-year-old child who was also in the vehicle sustained critical injuries and was immediately airlifted to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk. The current condition of the child remains unknown. The police are actively investigating the cause of the accident, with speed being considered as a potential factor.

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue swiftly responded to the scene. The road had to be closed for several hours to facilitate the removal of the wreckage. The victim’s family and the entire Gloucester community are deeply saddened by this loss of life.
