Christian Samay Obituary, Bucknell University student found dead

Christian Samay Obituary – A tragic incident occurred at Bucknell University over the weekend, as announced by school leaders on Sunday. The student who passed away has been identified as Christian Samay, a 24-year-old from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. Mountain Lakes is a borough in Morris County, which is a suburb of New York City.

In a statement released to the college community on Saturday, University President John Bravman expressed his condolences, stating that this is an unimaginable loss for the Bucknell community. He extended his sympathies to Christian’s family and friends. Bucknell University is a private liberal arts school located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, approximately 60 miles north of Harrisburg, the state’s capital. Christian Samay was a senior at the university, according to Bucknell Director of Media Relations Mike Ferlazzo.

On Saturday afternoon, the University Department of Public Safety responded to an address where the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity is situated and discovered Christian Samay deceased, as reported by Ferlazzo. There is no immediate comment available from Phi Gamma Delta as of Monday morning. The university has not provided further details regarding the exact location of Christian’s body or the suspected cause of his death.

In his statement, President Bravman clarified that Christian Samay’s death is unrelated to a previous active shooter alert that the school received less than 24 hours earlier. The Pennsylvania State Police determined the alert to be a hoax originating from Virginia. “We appreciate your support and respect for the privacy of all involved,” Bravman wrote in Sunday’s statement, emphasizing that Christian’s passing was not connected to the active shooter incident.

On Friday evening, the school posted on its Facebook page that Bucknell campus police were responding to reports of an active shooter, resulting in a campus lockdown. However, shortly after, officials confirmed that they had received an all-clear from public safety and lifted the lockdown.
