Dean Dennison,Sierra Merchant Obituary – Maryland State Police have confirmed that a family of three from Saratoga County lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision on May 19. The tragic incident occurred on U.S. Route 13 in Wicomico County, Maryland.
Troopers were dispatched to the scene of a head-on collision at approximately 2:50 a.m. on Sunday. Following an investigation, it was determined that the driver of a Dodge Durango was traveling in the wrong direction on the southbound lanes of Route 13 when it crashed into a Subaru Impreza.
The driver and passenger of the Subaru, identified as Dean Dennison, 21, and Sierra Merchant, 20, both residents of Ganesvoort, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant in the Subaru, Grayson Dennison, 1, also from Ganesvoort, was rushed to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was airlifted to a hospital in Baltimore for medical treatment. Maryland State Police have mentioned that charges related to the incident are pending. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and efforts to support the families of the victims have been initiated through an online fundraiser.
