Dilton Florezel Lai Obituary, Man found dead in car after crashing into Parkland canal
Dilton Florezel Lai Obituary – Authorities have positively identified the individual whose body was discovered inside a vehicle that plunged into a canal in Parkland earlier this week, as they persist in examining the circumstances that led to the tragic event.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday at the juncture of Pine Island Road and Nob Hill Road. In an official statement released on Wednesday, Broward Sheriff’s Office representatives disclosed that 51-year-old Dilton Florezel Lai, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, was operating a 2021 Honda Accord when he neglected to halt at the T-shaped intersection.
For reasons yet to be determined, Lai veered over the elevated curb, traversed the grass, and careened over into the canal, according to officials. The vehicle was completely submerged and was not reported to BSO until approximately 11 a.m. Deputies and a dive team promptly arrived at the scene and located the Accord with Lai’s remains inside. The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
