Heather Corey Obituary – A tragic incident occurred in Palmyra over the weekend, resulting in the death of a woman. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to a distress call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a minivan on Route 2 near the Palmyra Walmart at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Saturday.

The pedestrian, identified as Heather Corey, a 45-year-old resident of Palmyra, was crossing Route 2 from the Walmart parking lot towards the Dollar General when she was hit by a Dodge Grand Caravan driven by an 80-year-old Palmyra man.

Following the accident, Corey was immediately transported to Sebasticook Valley Hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead.
