Jennifer Nelson Obituary, Man killed in two-vehicle crash in West Lafayette
Jennifer Nelson Obituary – A fatal collision involving two vehicles occurred on Thursday morning in West Lafayette, as reported by the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and firefighters responded to a 911 call regarding a personal injury crash on State Road 26 West. The incident involved a 2009 Dodge Caliber and a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country colliding head-on.
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as Jennifer Nelson, sustained injuries and was taken to IU Arnett Hospital in serious condition. Unfortunately, the driver of the Dodge Caliber was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team and the county coroner conducted further investigations at the scene.
Initial findings suggest that the Dodge Caliber crossed the center line while traveling westbound, leading to the collision with the eastbound Chrysler. The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the Dodge Caliber driver will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office. State Road 26 West was closed for three hours during the investigation.
