Kelly Wingate Obituary – The woman discovered deceased near Tanger Outlet Boulevard in North Charleston has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner as Kelly Wingate, 48, from North Charleston. The coroner’s office reported that Wingate passed away due to blunt force injuries. Her body was found at 4841 Tanger Outlet Boulevard on Wednesday.
North Charleston Police Department officers were called to the Fairfield Inn and Suites at Tanger Boulevard just before 8 a.m. following a report of a deceased individual, leading to the discovery of Wingate’s body in the bushes of the parking lot. Robert Deantonio Gardner, 42, was arrested by the North Charleston Police Department on Wednesday evening in the 5000 block of International Boulevard and charged with murder.
Gardner is currently detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center. Records from the detention center indicate that Gardner has a lengthy history of arrests in Charleston County dating back to 2010. In January of this year, he was arrested for contempt of family court and released on March 16.
