Luis Miquel Navarro Obituary, Death; – The individual who was shot and killed during an altercation with law enforcement on FM-78 has been identified as 37-year-old Luis Miquel Navarro from San Antonio. The Texas State Highway Patrol confirmed that Navarro passed away due to the injuries sustained in the officer-involved shooting.

On Monday around 1 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Officer tried to stop a black Dodge Caravan for a traffic violation. The suspect refused to pull over and led the police on a high-speed pursuit on FM-78, reaching speeds exceeding 110 MPH. The chase came to an end when the black Dodge Caravan collided with a white Chevy Tahoe, resulting in two individuals being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Despite repeated commands from law enforcement, Navarro reportedly did not comply and was shot in the chest after multiple attempts to subdue him with a taser. Navarro was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol, Texas DPS, and the Texas Rangers.
