Luis Rodriguez,Jomar Maldonado Obituary – A multi-car crash in unincorporated Lake Wales, Polk County, is currently under investigation by authorities. Tragically, three lives were lost in the accident, including a couple from Port St. Lucie. The sole survivor of the crash is the couple’s 3-year-old grandson, Jaydyn.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday. The collision took place when 22-year-old Hannah Wieser of Winter Haven, driving a 2015 Ford Flex, collided head-on with the couple’s Ford F-150 truck. The couple, identified as Luis Rodriguez, 54, and Jomar Maldonado, 52, succumbed to their injuries. Fortunately, Jaydyn, who was securely strapped in his car seat in the back seat of the truck, was taken to a local hospital and is expected to fully recover.
It is worth noting that all drivers and passengers involved in the crash were wearing seat belts. The Port St. Lucie family was returning home from Busch Gardens when the tragic accident occurred.
