Matthew Miller Obituary, Whiteside Co. Sheriff identifies man killed in crash
Matthew Miller Obituary – The Rock Falls man who lost his life in a crash on Wednesday has been identified by the Whiteside County Sheriff. Deputies from Whiteside County arrived at the scene of the crash at IL Route 40 and Route 172 in rural Rock Falls at 9:22 a.m., as reported by Sheriff John F. Booker. Along with the Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police, Rock Falls Fire Department, and CGH Ambulance Service also responded to the incident.
Sheriff Booker stated that the crash involved a semi-truck and a farm tractor. The driver of the tractor, Matthew Miller, aged 41, was tragically killed in the collision.
The driver of the semi-truck, identified as Gustavo Cervantes, 39, from Crest Hill, Illinois, was treated and discharged from a local medical facility, according to Sheriff Booker. Cervantes was issued a citation for improper passing within 100 feet of an intersection. Sheriff Booker mentioned that the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
