Michael Alcantara Obituary, Virginia man killed, another hurt in drug deal gone wrong

Michael Alcantara Obituary – Fairfax County police reported that a man was fatally shot and another was critically injured in what is believed to be a drug-related exchange of gunfire at a shopping center in Virginia. The incident took place at the Centre Lee Business Park in Centreville, where two men, identified as 18-year-old Michael Alcantara and Hassan Kanu, engaged in a shootout following a drug deal.

Alcantara was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kanu sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Kanu has been charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during a felony. The authorities confirmed that no other individuals were harmed during the incident, which is the first homicide in Centreville since February 2022. Despite the rarity of violent crimes in the area, drug-related offenses have seen a notable increase in the county this year. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
