Roger Roland Obituary, Driver killed in wrong-way crash on I-65 identified

Roger Roland Obituary – The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has reported that a fatal crash occurred on Thursday morning on Interstate 65, resulting in the death of Roger Roland, a 54-year-old resident of Lawrenceburg. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. near the Vietnam Veterans Boulevard exit on I-65N.

According to the police, Roland was driving his Ford Ranger pickup truck in the wrong direction, heading south in a northbound lane, when he collided head-on with a semi. Tragically, Roland lost his life at the scene of the accident. Additionally, during the crash, a wheel from Roland’s Ranger detached and struck a vehicle belonging to a Goodlettsville police officer. Fortunately, the officer did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the semi was taken to Skyline Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The police have obtained a blood sample from Roland to determine if he was impaired at the time of the crash.
