William Albert Cooper Obituary, – William Albert Cooper peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at Charter Senior Living in Woodbridge, Connecticut on February 20, 1924, at the age of 99.

A cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bill is survived by his wife, Katharine “Kitty” Corti, his sister Marianne Ruth Cooper Magner, and his children Kathleen (Paul) Bard of Winslow, William (Cynthia) Cooper of Nokomis, Florida, Michael (Pam) Cooper of Naperville, Illinois, and Corti (Carlos Esteves) Cooper of Stratford, Connecticut.

He is also remembered by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Marino Cooper, after 26 years of marriage.

Born on March 7, 1924, in Caribou, Maine to Gretchen Maud Cox and William Albert Cooper, he graduated from Caribou High School and bravely served in both World War II on the USS Philadelphia and the Korean War.

Throughout his career, Bill worked as an accountant for Maine Potato Growers in Presque Isle and held a management position at C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company in Waterville before retiring after 30 years. He later established his own accounting and tax business in Naples, New York, where he eventually retired.

Bill found fulfillment in volunteering for various organizations such as TOSCA, Lions Club, Jaycees, Rotary Club, and Naples Historical Society. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Naples, New York, and Maine. We fondly picture “Coop” enjoying heavenly fairways in the afterlife.
