William F. Gorman Obituary, Independence man 89, dies in Benton County car crash

William F. Gorman Obituary – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has reported that during the Memorial Day Weekend, there was a fatality involving a man from the Kansas City area.

During the Memorial Day weekend, the initial analysis conducted by MSHP indicated that there were no boating crash or drowning deaths, but there were 7 car crash fatalities. One of the individuals who lost their life was an elderly man from Independence, Mo., who was identified as 89-year-old William F. Gorman.

Gorman was operating a 2024 Can-Am Spyder, which is a three-wheeled motorbike, or motortricycle, according to MSHP. He was trying to cross U.S. Highway 65 at Balke Road in Benton County when he was struck by an oncoming southbound driver in a GMC Terrain.

Despite wearing a helmet, Gorman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 74-year-old woman, did not seem to have sustained any injuries. This incident marks the 26th fatality crash of the year for MSHP. Additionally, according to KY3, an 18-year-old lost their life in a crash near Salem, Mo. on Monday.
